                                               The end of Gilgamesh!

Question= For this blog post, I want you to share any salient points that stuck out to you. Try to focus on what hasn't already been said in class. Also, I want you to consider the following question "How do the insights from this video change or shape your thoughts on The Epic of Gilgamesh."

Answer=  We learned some new things when watching the video a couple days ago. But some salient points that stuck out to me was that the gods sent down Enkidu to teach Gilgamesh about his power. One other salient point that stuck out to me was that the original "Gilgamesh" copy was written in hylogrifics and when we found them they were turned into a copy that everyone could read and enjoy. The insights from this video shape my thoughts of 'The Epic of Gilgamesh" because I learned many new things about Gilgamesh and Enkidu then I did before. Another one would be that we have not found all the clay tablets to finish the whole story of Gilgamesh, Enkidu, and the Gods they are still somewhere out in the world.

For this blog post response, I want you to relate one of the scenes to one of the Steps of the Hero's Journey.

Scene I picked= https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3ygiGa5vFw&t=5s (Harry potter at the reptile house)

Answer=   In this scene Harry talks to the snake and helps in escape and discovers that he has powers. This
relates to the hero's Journey because the character has to go threw a Supernatural stage which they discover their powers. Harry discovers that he can make the glass disappear and let the snake out. This is a supernatural aid because he did what some people cant normally do. Harry was talking to the snake and then his step-brother pushed him on his floor Harry got mad and used his supernatural aid to make the glass disappear and let the snake out.

For homework I want to construct a blog post responding to the following points: In relation to our brief discussion of “catharsis” how does this relate to Gilgamesh’s realization of his own mortality?   What prompts Gilgamesh to confront his own mortality? Answer= In our brief discussion of catharsis in class it relates to Gilgamesh's realization of his own mortality by when Gilgamesh realized that he was in state of being subject to death he was scared that he would die and not finish his quest to prove his heroism to everyone. One thing that prompts Gilgamesh to confront his own mortality is that he believes that he can do this and achieve his goal to prove his heroism to everyone.

For this blog post I want you to compare the character traits of Gilgamesh and Enkidu. How are they alike, how are they different? Find a quote to support your answer. After you publish your post, I want you to comment on a fellow classmates blog.

Gilgamesh's character traits are self-righteous and selfish one piece of evidence to support this is, " he believed everything belonged to him." This explains that he is selfish and thinks that everything is his and only his. One character trait for Enkidu is lazy.
